SNKRS Pass is a draw for the opportunity to buy shoes at a nearby store. A shipped SNKRS Draw is an online purchase if you are selected. That difference changes when you pay, who can collect and what you need to bring. Before requesting a Pass, check whether you can personally reach the listed store during its pickup window.
What is the difference between SNKRS Pass and a shipped Draw?
The main difference is how the purchase is completed. Pass selection leads to an in-store purchase, while a shipped Draw uses the payment and delivery details submitted online.
Nike describes both options in its SNKRS app guidance. Its separate Pass rules and Draw instructions set out these practical differences:
| Check | SNKRS Pass | Shipped SNKRS Draw |
|---|---|---|
| Where you enter | SNKRS app | SNKRS app or website |
| Location | A participating store must be nearby | Follow the release’s online eligibility and delivery rules |
| What selection means | Opportunity to buy at the listed store | Purchase if selected |
| Payment | At pickup in the store | Online payment details are required before selection |
| Getting the shoes | Named person collects in person | Follow the confirmed order and shipment |
| Deadline after selection | The pickup window displayed on the Pass | Check the order record and delivery updates |
Both use a selection process. A Pass is not a promise that every request will succeed. For the wider entry process, read how Nike SNKRS draws work.
Who can request a SNKRS Pass?
Nike Members need a nearby participating location shown in the SNKRS app. Nike uses the phone’s GPS to establish local eligibility for the offer.
The US Pass guidance asks users to enable location services and push notifications. It also says you must live within the participating store’s eligibility radius. No nearby listed location means you are not eligible for that Pass. Nike does not give one distance that applies to every offer.
Start with the offer actually available in the app. A shoe appearing in a release calendar does not establish that it has a Pass reservation near you.
What should you check before submitting a Pass request?
Check the name, size, store and collection plan before you submit. Nike says the name, shoe size and store cannot be changed afterwards, including after a Pass is issued.
Work through these preparation checks:
- Match the profile’s first and last name to the physical photo ID you will bring.
- Choose the size you intend to keep. Do not select another size just to submit a request.
- Read the listed store and pickup window, then allow time for the journey.
- Make sure you can attend personally with the phone used for the reservation.
Nike limits Pass reservations and pickups to one per person, per shoe style. Its Pass FAQ also rules out reserving the same style at multiple stores.
A pickup planning example
Suppose your only free time is after the pickup window shown in the app. A friend’s availability does not solve that mismatch, because the named person must collect. Choose an option you can complete yourself before requesting a reservation.
What do you need when you collect the shoes?
Bring the original reservation device with the active Pass QR code, matching physical photo ID and payment. The first and last name must match the reservation.
Nike’s pickup instructions list a driver’s license, student ID, passport or military ID as valid photo ID. Check the document you plan to use before making the trip.
After selection, the app initially shows a reservation with the shoe, size, pickup date and store. On pickup day, that becomes the active Pass containing the QR code. Check that state on the original phone before leaving.
Keep the phone available and charged for collection. A confirmation that you submitted a request is not the active pickup Pass. Follow the reservation displayed in Nike’s app.
When do you pay, and can the store ship the pair?
You pay for a Pass reservation in the store at pickup. Nike says there is no obligation to buy after selection, and stores cannot ship Pass shoes.
A shipped Draw has a different commitment. Nike’s Draw instructions say that submitting an entry agrees to purchase if selected. Keep payment details current before entering, then check the actual outcome.
If you entered an online Draw and cannot tell whether you bought anything, use the pending and order-confirmation checklist. If a purchase is confirmed in the wrong size, follow the post-win size-change guide.
For a Laced-managed entry, use Laced History and order tracking. That workflow is separate from a Pass reservation displayed in Nike’s app. This guide explains direct Nike pickup rules; do not treat a Laced entry confirmation as a Pass.
What should you do if the pickup window does not work?
Choose another purchase route you can complete. Nike says pickup windows vary between Passes, and an expired Pass no longer gives access to the shoes.
Check the specific window instead of assuming every reservation lasts a day. Do not travel to the store expecting an expired Pass to work, or plan around somebody else collecting it.
If the nearby store, size and pickup window all work, settle the profile and ID checks before requesting the Pass. Otherwise, use the release calendar to look for a suitable shipped release and read that listing’s instructions. Choose the process you can finish, with the right size and collection plan settled first.
Questions people ask
Is SNKRS Pass the same as a SNKRS Draw?
SNKRS Pass also uses random selection, but it gives the selected person an opportunity to buy at a nearby store. A shipped SNKRS Draw is an online purchase if selected. The pickup, payment and device requirements are different.
Can someone else pick up my SNKRS Pass shoes?
No. Nike's US Pass rules require the person named on the reservation to collect and purchase. Bring the original reservation device, the active Pass QR code and physical photo ID matching the first and last name.
Do I pay online when I win a SNKRS Pass?
Nike collects payment at the store when you pick up a Pass reservation. Selection does not create an obligation to buy. A shipped Draw works differently: entering agrees to purchase the shoes if selected.
What happens if I miss the SNKRS Pass pickup window?
Nike says the Pass is valid only during its displayed timeframe. After it expires, you no longer have access to the shoes through that Pass. Pickup windows vary, so check the dates and hours on the reservation itself.
Can I change the name, size or store on a SNKRS Pass request?
Nike's US policy does not allow the name, size or store to change after a Pass request is submitted, including after selection. Correct the profile name and confirm the size and location before submitting the request.
