Not selected is the most common result of a popular SNKRS draw, and it says nothing about you. Nike picks entrants at random after the countdown ends, and on a hyped pair far more people enter than there are pairs. This post covers what Nike says happens next, what does not help, and the few things worth doing before the next draw goes live.
What does not selected actually mean on SNKRS?
It means the draw picked other entries. That is all.
A draw closes, then selects at random from every entry made inside the window. Nike says it emails results to winners and to people who were not selected within 24 hours of the countdown ending. On a pair with thousands of entries, most entries are not picked. The guide to why SNKRS entries fail goes through what an L does and does not tell you.
It is not a verdict on you or your account. It is arithmetic about the pool.
What does not help after a draw closes?
Two things people try, and why each fails.
Entering the same pair again
Nike’s draw rules allow one submission per person per launch product. A second entry from the same account is a duplicate, and it does not get a second look.
Looking for a reason
Nike does not publish one, and a random selection has none to give. Nothing can tell you why one entry was picked and another was not.
What is worth doing before the next draw?
Small things, done early.
- Keep notifications on and watch the Upcoming feed. That is Nike’s own advice for anyone who was not selected, and it is how you learn a date in time.
- Settle payment and size before the draw goes live. A selected entry still has to pay. The post on payment failures after a win lists the checks.
- Enter the draws you want, in a size you would keep. Each draw is a separate selection, and a pair you would not wear is a spent entry.
- Know what Exclusive Access is. Nike invites some members to buy ahead of a public draw, and the Exclusive Access guide covers what Nike says and what it does not.
Where does Laced fit?
Laced puts more than one entry into a draw you pick. Each profile is one more entry in the same draw, and the odds on each entry stay the same. It does not change a result after a draw closes. How it works has the steps.
Questions people ask
Does not selected on SNKRS mean my account is flagged?
No. A draw picks at random once it closes, and most entries in a large pool are not picked. That is arithmetic about the pool, not a verdict on you or your account.
How long until SNKRS tells me I was not selected?
Nike says it emails results to winners and to people who were not selected within 24 hours after the countdown ends. Check both your email and the SNKRS app for the result.
Can I enter again if I was not selected?
Not for the same pair. Nike's draw rules allow one submission per person per launch product, so a second entry from the same account is a duplicate. You can enter the next draw, which is what Nike's help page points people to.
Does entering more draws change my odds?
Each draw is a separate selection. Entering more of them puts you in more selections, but it does not change the odds inside any one of them, and a result cannot be changed once the draw closes.
Is there another way to get a pair besides the public draw?
Nike sometimes invites selected members through Exclusive Access, which is separate from the public draw. Nike decides who is invited and does not publish how it chooses, so there is nothing to apply for. Our guide covers what Nike does say.
